On December 16, several players from the Firebirds volunteered in the kitchens of MANNA helping to prepare meals.  MANNA prepares and delivers delicious, nourishing meals, along with counsel and hope, to people at acute nutritional risk from life-threatening illnesses, helping them improve their health and quality of life.  MANNA serves 3 meals a day, 7 days a week to over 9 counties in PA & NJ.  The Philadelphia Firebirds greatly appreciate the opportunity to volunteer in preparing the meals for such a great organization.  For more information on MANNA go to www.mannapa.org.

On December 10, several players from the Firebirds read to the students from HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy.  It was a fantastic event for the players, students and staff.  The players brought a football, shoulder pads and helmet for the children and staff to try on.  The Firebirds would like to thank the staff at HMS for allowing us the opportunity to come into your school and read to the students.
